How to import your phone contacts as customers
Open the customer screen, choose import from contacts, allow the one-time contacts permission, select the people you want and confirm. Only the contacts you select are copied in as customer records; the rest of your address book is left alone and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Import selectively, not completely
The temptation is to import everything and tidy up later. In practice a customer list mixed with family, delivery drivers and a dentist becomes a list nobody trusts, and search stops being useful.
Bring across the people you actually do business with. The rest can be imported one at a time later, in seconds each.

Steps
- Open the customer screenTap the customers tab in the bottom bar, or the customers entry in the navigation rail on a wide screen.
- Choose import from contactsUse the import action on the customer screen. The app asks for the contacts permission the first time only.
- Select the people to bring acrossTick the contacts that are customers. Personal contacts can be left out — this is a selection, not a bulk copy of the address book.
- Confirm the importThe selected contacts become customer records with their name and phone number filled in.
- Enrich as they come backAdd addresses, tags and custom fields to a record the next time that customer appears, rather than trying to complete every profile in one evening.
Frequently asked questions
Does the app read my whole address book?
It shows you the list so you can choose. Only the contacts you tick become customer records, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Can I import a CSV or an Excel file of customers?
No. Import is from the phone contact list. A generic spreadsheet importer is not offered because the shape of every sheet differs and a bad import is harder to undo than a manual entry.
Will importing create duplicates?
Import creates a record per contact you select. If a customer already exists, leave them unticked.
